TBAY Westchase at the Jingle Bell Meet

CAT’s Jingle Bell Meet was this weekend in Clearwater. This meet is always a fun swim meet that features some fast swimming. Numerous swimmers found successful by dominating more than one event.

Girls 10 and Under

Outstanding swims for the 10 and under girls came from Academy Aquatic Club’s Ashlin Cannella, 9 years old, who won the 50 Backstroke, 100 Fly and the 200 IM. T2 Aquatic’s Havana Layton, 10 years old, won the 50 Free and the 200 Free.

Patriot Aquatic’s Natalie Truong won 6 events, including the 100 Free, 100 Backstroke, 50 and100 Breaststroke, 50 Fly, and 100 IM.

Girls 11-12

Team Velocity’s Lexie Mulvihill was also strong, winning the 50 Free, 50 Backstroke and the 100 Free. Southwest Star’s Gracie Khunduang dominated the 11-12 200 IM, going 2:10.73. She also won the 100 Fly (58.38), 50 Breaststroke, 200 Breaststroke (2:24.96), and the 50 Fly.

Southwest Star’s Jaiden Muramatsu took first in both the 200 Fly and 200 Free. Meanwhile East Coast Aquatic Club’s Chade Nersicio won the 100 and 200 Breaststroke.

Girls 13-14

High Tide’s Katie Cronin won the 13-14 50 Free and 100 Free. East Coast Aquatic Club’s Madison Cummings won the 13-14 50 Backstroke, 100 Backstroke, and the 200 Backstroke (2:03.73). Blue Dolfin’s Abigail Gibbons, 13 years old, won both the 13-14 100 Fly and 50 Fly.

Greater Tampa’s Ella Marlow won the 200 Fly and 200 Freestyle.

Girls 15-16

High Tide’s Monona Martin took first in the 15-16 50 Free, 100 Free, and 200 Free. Blue Dolfin’s Savannah Brennan won the 15-16 200 IM and 50 Breaststroke. Clearwater Aquatic’s Mackenzie Stumpf dominated the 200 Breaststroke (2:20.23), 100 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke (1:05.11), and 200 Backstroke (2:02.59).

T2’s Karen Liu won both the 200 Fly and 400 IM, going 4:25.53.

Girls Open Division

Blue Wave’s Katie Vasilof won the Girls Open Division in the 50 Free, 100 Fly, and 50 Fly. Highlander’s Lucas Spencer won the 100 Backstroke (59.83), 200 Backstroke, and the 400 IM. Meanwhile Blue Dolfin’s Taylor Grabenhorst claimed victory in the 50, 100, and 200 Breaststroke,

Boys 10 and Under

East Coast Aquatics Noah Smith took first place in both the 50 Backstroke and the 50 Fly. Teammate Nicholas Kjaerulff also found victory in the 100 Fly, 100 Free, 50 Breaststroke, and the 100 and 200 IM.

Boys 11-12

Greater Tampa’s Jackson Smith won two events: 50 Free and 50 Fly. Clearwater Aquatic Team’s Benjamin Cote found success in the 500 Free and 200 IM. Patriot Aquatic’s Sage Sungail won the 100 and 200 Fly and 200 Free.

Clearwater Aquatic Team’s Luke Williams won both the 100 and 200 Backstroke. Greater Tampa’s Tommy Nagle found success by winning the 50, 100 and 200 Breaststroke,

Boys 13-14

Lakewood Ranch’s Sebastian Aguirre dominated his competition by taking first in 7 events: the 50 and 100 Free, 50 and 100 Backstroke, and the 50, 100 and 200 Fly. Meanwhile East Coast Aquatic Club’s Ted Ho won the 500 Free (4:46.36), 200 Free, and 1650 Free (16.13.16).

Patriot Aquatic’s Nate Boccuzzo won the 200 IM, 100 and 200 Breaststroke (2:11.71), and 400 IM.

Boys 15-16

East Coast Aquatic Club’s Seggio Bernardina claimed victory in the 50 and 100 Free (46.94) and the 50 and 100 Fly (50.58). T2 Aquatic’s Cole Gutknecht, 15 years old, won the 500 Free, 200 IM, 200 Breaststroke, and 200 Fly.

Sarasota Y’s Dan Sofjins placed first in the 100 and 200 Backstroke. Meanwhile T2 Aquatic’s Mitch Mandigo won the 50 and 100 Breaststroke.

Boys Open Division

Martin County Swimming’s Kevin Lindgren took first in the 50 and 200 Free as well as in the 50 and 200 Backstroke (1:47.64). Meanwhile High Tide Aquatic’s Seth Borgert won several events: 500 Free (4:30.35), 200 IM (1:53.47), 100 Backstroke, 200 Fly, and the 400 IM (4:04.03).

Trident Swimming’s Kyle Trelka took first in the 100 Free (46.15) and the 100 Breaststroke (57.83).
