Four Gators competed on Day 6 of the World University Games and three earned a silver medal in the men’s 4x200m freestyle relay.

Maxime Rooney, Mitch D’Arrigo and Grant Sanders each took home a silver medal after Team USA’s performance in the relay. This was Rooney’s second medal of the week after he came in first with Team USA in the men’s 4x100m free relay.

Rooney and D’Arrigo raced in the final for the Gators, finishing in second place with a time of 7:12.19.

Sanders earned a medal as well after kicking off the men’s 4x200m medley relay preliminary, where Team USA posted a time of 7:19.25. He swam a split of 1:52.19 to start the race and D’Arrigo closed out with a 1:48.17 to clinch the heat for the USA.

Bayley Main raced in the prelims of the men’s 4x200m free relay with New Zealand, coming in 14th with a time of 7:37.46. Main recorded a 1:56.25 split on the second leg of the race.

Saturday’s preliminary round begins at 9 a.m. in Taiwan (Friday, 9 p.m. EST) with the women’s 400m freestyle race. Georgia Marris, Bayley Main and Maxime Rooney are all set to compete on Day 7.
