Stephen “Sid” Cassidy has long been regarded as one of the nation’s most innovative and positive-minded coaches. In addition, he is renowned world-wide as one of Open Water swimming’s most respected leaders. He has been lauded for his role in placing a marathon 10 Kilometer Swim permanently into the Olympic Games, perhaps his greatest contribution to the swimming world, following more than four decades as a swimmer, coach and administrator.
Being named Florida High School Coach of the Year twice during his current stint as the Head Coach and Aquatic Director at Saint Andrew’s School in Boca Raton, Sid has coached at all levels, including at the University of Miami, Florida State University and James Madison University.
