Sunlake Land O’ Lakes High School star Chloe Grimme recently gave her verbal commitment to the University of Florida:

“I’m beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Florida! I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to be part of such an amazing team with incredible people! Thank you to all my coaches, family, and teammates for helping me reach this point in my swim career #gogators!”

Grimme has finaled at states every year of her high school career, in both the 50 and 100 yard freestyle. She has proven herself to be the one of the top 50 freestylers in Florida, having won the event at 3A states every November since her sophomore year. She has also played an integral part in multiple relay state champion titles. This past high school season, her 200 medley relay relay won the state title, where she anchored in the time of 22.43.

Grimme swims club throughout the year with the Berkeley Barracudas. She has become quite the accomplished freestyle sprinter, earning herself the 2017 US Open cut at only 15 years old. She has attended multiple Junior National meets, where this past year she was only .04 off from making the 50 free final. Locally, Grimme is also a multiple time Senior Champ and Sectional champion. This incredibly successful career has given Grimme the opportunity to verbally commit to a top Division 1 school, where she will be joining the class of ‘24!

We wish you the best of luck as a Gator, Chloe! Congratulations!
