On the final night of the US Olympic Trials, #TeamFlorida had SPA’s Bobby Finke as the final competitor.

The day before, Bobby had a monster swim in the 1500 Free, going 15:15.52, the fifth fastest time in the world for the 15-16 year old age group. This was good enough to qualify sixth for Sunday night’s final event, going up against some of the world’s best with Connor Jaeger and Jordan Wilimovsky, both of whom had already qualified for the Olympic team in earlier events.

Bobby went out early, holding as high as third place for the first laps. By the end of the race, though the youngest in the field, just 16-years-old Bobby finished seventh, going 15:18.40.

The Finkes are a family swimmers, as Bobby’s older sisters Summer and Autumn also competed in Omaha.  The future is bright for this St. Pete swimming family! Congrats, Bobby!
