Palm Beach Ocean Rescue placed second at the United States Lifesaving Association Southeast Regional Championships earlier this month and are gearing up for the national championships.

Palm Beach competed against 21 beach patrol teams in the regionals, which were held July 16 and 17 in Flagler Beach. Some teams from large cities had as many as 80 lifeguards per team, said competition Capt. Mark Myhre.
