The CSCAA released its Preseason Top 25 Poll on Tuesday night and Florida’s men’s and women’s teams were each tabbed to the list.
The Gator men garnered 238 points to put them fourth in the nation, just three points behind third-ranked Stanford. Florida finished third at last season’s NCAA Championships and returned all but two senior swimmers to the 2017-18 squad.
On the women’s side, Florida finds itself ranked 18th in the nation with 86 points. The Gators finished last season seventh in the SEC and return 11 of the 13 swimmers and divers that qualified for the NCAA Championships.
Both the men and women finished first in the All-Florida Invitational, with the men topping Florida State 1,227.5-1,021.5. The women beat out both Florida State and Miami by finishing with 1,068 points.
Florida returns to action on Oct. 20-21 for the Texas/Indiana Tri-Meet. The Texas men are currently ranked second in the nation, while Indiana is sixth.
The Gator women will also face two ranked opponents that weekend, with Texas sitting at third in the nation and Indiana ranked 10th.
The CSCAA polls are compiled by CSCAA-member coaches and are released bi-weekly. The next poll will be released on Oct. 24.
