GAMBIER, Ohio – Some long-standing swimming records took a hit Saturday night in the final session of the three-day long Total Performance Sports Camps Invitational. One of those records was shattered by Kenyon College junior Harrison Curley, who helped the Lords maintain a second-place finish among some heavyweight competition from both NCAA Division I and III teams.
A total of eight swimming events were contested Saturday night and five events ended in Steen Aquatic Center records. One of those pool records was set by Curley, who won the 200-yard backstroke in a blazing time 1:45.80. Not only was that a pool record, but also a Kenyon record. It replaced the old Kenyon mark of 1:47.21 set by Leandro Monteiro in the 2001-02 season.
