As the regional stage of the 2018 high school championship season is quickly approaches, we have been bringing you up to speed on who to keep an eye on. Now it is time to highlight the male 3A swimmers to watch.

Ryland Sun

At last year’s state meet, Sun showed complete dominance. Sun claimed state titles in the 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke, and 200 medley relay. He is now committed to swim at Florida State University next year.

Quintin Scholz

Scholz competed in both the 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle at last year’s state meet, placing first in the 100 and second in the 200.

Jack Van Deusen

Van Deusen placed second in the 200 Individual Medley to Ricardo Martinez, who graduated last year. Van Deusen was also state runner up in the 500 freestyle, in which three out of the top four place finishers were seniors. It will be interesting to see who steps up to race Van Deusen this year now that these seniors are gone.

Adrian Aguilar

Last year, Aguilar competed individually in the 100 butterfly, where he placed second. He also helped Doral Academy Charter High to a first place finish in the 400 freestyle relay, a second place finish in the 200 freestyle relay, and a third place finish in the 200 medley relay.

If you have official results from FHSAA state series meets (districts, regionals, states), please email those to ptitus@floridaswimnetwork.com to be published on FSN. Be sure to include the state class along with the number district and/or region.
