Last week began the long-awaited high school championship series, starting with Class 4A and 3A Districts. Just as we have done for Class 4A, we have created a list of female swimmers in Class 3A to watch this championship season.

Olivia McMurray

McMurray made an impressive showing at last year’s state meet. As a freshman, McMurray attained state titles in the 500 freestyle and 200 individual medley – in which she dominated the competition by nearly 3 seconds.

Chloe Grimme

A specialist in all things sprint freestyle, Grimme brought home first place medals in the 50 freestyle and the 200 freestyle relay at last year’s states. Grimme also placed second in the 100 freestyle and third in the 200 medley relay.

Kristen Nutter

Last year, Nutter became state champion in the 100 butterfly for Venice High School. She also placed fourth in the 100 backstroke. A senior this year, Nutter has verbally committed to swim and study at Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tennessee.

Summer Stanfield

Stanfield was state runner-up in both the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 backstroke last year. It will be interesting to see how she attacks these races this year, as her greatest competition in the 100 backstroke, Helena Heuberger, graduated last year. Stanfield also contributed to a first place finish in the 400 freestyle relay.

If you have official results from FHSAA state series meets (districts, regionals, states), please email those to ptitus@floridaswimnetwork.com to be published on FSN. Be sure to include the state class along with the number district and/or region.
