The FHSAA Class 2A state series creeping up quickly on everyone. In preparation, we have compiled a list of 2A female swimmers to keep watch from districts to the podium.

Ryley Ober

Ober, a senior swimming for Bayshore, is someone to most definitely look out for in the middle distance freestyle events this state series. Last year, she snagged wins in both the 200 and 100 freestyle. That being said, Ober is most definitely looking at top three in both events. Ober is committed to Indiana University and looking to finish her  high school swimming career with a bang.

Taylor Ward

Ward is a senior at Land O’Lakes and is looking at a fast state meet this year. Placing second in both the 200 and 500 freestyles the 2017-2018 state meet, Ward is a middle distance force to be reckoned with. Now committed to Vanderbilt University, Ward, like many others, is looking to dominate in this year’s state series.

Emily Cordovi

Cordovi is a stroke sprinting machine. Taking both wins in the 100 backstroke and the 100 butterfly at the 2017-2018 state meet, this senior from Gulliver Prep is most definitely looking at top three wins in both events. Cordovi is now committed to swim at Florida State University.

Sara Stotler

Stotler is the sophomore amongst seniors. Taking second in the 100 butterfly and third in the 200 freestyle last year, this now sophomore from Clay (the alma mater of swimming legend, Caeleb Dressel) is looking to place high this year and the next two years to follow.

Overall, the 2A state meet is filled with fast swimmers, both upper and underclassmen, and even faster events. The main event to watch will most likely be the 200 freestyle.  Three of the aforementioned swimmers will be competing in this event.
