Really cool to see Caeleb Dressel break the American record at the Texas A&M Natatorium. History in the making. And Aggie swimmer Mauro Castillo Luna got 2nd! pic.twitter.com/sUGGwXWoOH

At this point, it comes as no surprise that Caeleb Dressel is capable of going some of the most ridiculous times you’ve ever heard of. But if I told you that Caeleb went a 50. In the 100 breaststroke, would you believe me?
Well, now you’ll have to. The kid that can swim nearly everything adds yet another ridiculous event to his repertoire. Caeleb dropped an unfathomable 50.03 in the 100 breast tonight, breaking both the NCAA and American records on the way to that. That time beats the former record holder, Kevin Cordes, by .01. Cordes being, well, a pure breaststroker.
So let’s regroup. He has dropped a sub-18 second 50 freestyle, a 1:38.1 200IM and now a 50.03 100 breastroke at SECs of all meets! Let’s remember here people….Gregg Troy isnt letting Caeleb Dressel fully taper and shave for a conference championship. If this is any sign of whats to come at NCAAs in a little over a month, we are going to need to start reconsidering what constitutes as a ridiculously fast time….because Dressel continues to blow that out of the water.
